Well, this IS my grandmothers skillet and they made them so much lighter and smoother back then. Clara Bell bought her #8 three notch Lodge in the 40s before she left Tennessee to move north. This skillet is a #12 and has some beautiful swirls. There is some unevenness in color that will blend with use, No damage. It does not sit flat on all surfaces so perfect for any cook top.
