Recorded in mono on June 22, 1956, it features Rollins, along with Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins, and Max Roach. The album includes tracks like "St. Thomas," inspired by a calypso style, and "Blue 7," a lengthy blues piece. "St. Thomas" has become a jazz standard.
