Hanging Ikebana Vase – monkey reaching for a moon (wisteria over a river) (brown – M size) sailor moon obijime 115cmA vintage hanging ikebana vase, in the shape of a crescent moon. It is suspended on a hook shaped like a monkey. This design is inspired by an old, yet still popular motif in Japanese art: a monkey reaching for a reflection of the moon on a lake. The vase is nanbu ware, a traditional iron casting style. The sides of the moon are decorated with an image of wisteria flowers hanging over flowing water on one side, and just flowery branches on the other.
